Critical Update to YaBB 2.3 PDF Print E-mail
Written by Outumuro

Corey Chapman, CEO of XIMinc and YaBB Project Leader, has announced a critical update for the recently released YaBB 2.3.  Here is a reprint of Corey's announcement:

If you have already downloaded YaBB 2.3, released on October 12, 2008, please download the package again.  A few immediate bugs were found and corrected; one is critical due to its ability to quickly use up disk space and cause server load issues.

In case the SourceForge mirrors have not yet updated to the replaced files, you may download them from the attachments in this news posting.

The following files have been modified in the new copy of the .tar.gz and the .zip.  Please extract the compressed folder and upload these 7 updated files on top of your existing installation of YaBB 2.3.  No further work is needed to fix these issues.

The following bugs have been fixed:
- <CRITICAL> Moving multiple files with attachments caused an enormous growth of the attachments.txt log file due to a forgotten "my" to make a variable local. Being global it pushed all attachments over and over again into the array.
- Moving locked threads caused them to become unlocked.
- Deleted topics were not being moved to the Recycle Bin board if this was enabled.
- The new Quick Reply feature bypassed the warning notice about a thread being locked when a moderator or Admin tried to reply to it.
- The moderator and Global moderator help files did not display one of the images properly.
